Last of St Petersburg – Beginning of Moscow

Hi.  This batch of photos is from the last day in St Petersburg and the beginning of our time in Moscow.

Our dinner on our final night in St Petersburg was a Tchaikovsky Night…musicians and ballet on the stage while we ate!  It was lovely.  The next day was Kori’s birthday (our wonderful tour director) and we presented her with a watch that we all chipped in to buy.  Kori’s into pink and watches so we got her a pink watch, of course!

We visited Stalin’s Bunker and sat around the war room table.  The blue door hides a tunnel 17km long from the Kremlin to the Bunker that Stalin used to move quickly between the two.  The phones and his desk are authentic and we got to see and touch them.  Pretty cool!  You can read more about it on Debbie’s post here.

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting your blog on the Baltics and Russia. It sounds like you really enjoyed the trip. I am considering it for next year and your comments helped to get me more interested. The heat in late June/July is a concern to me and that is the time that I can travel. Have you done any other Tauck Tours? Any recommendations?

Sounds like you are from Short Hills or the Oranges. My kids live there too. Thanks for sharing your pictures and your blog.
